Why books?

I have worked with many publishing houses over the course of 12 years, starting out as an in-house designer at a children's book publisher. Since then, I have worked on numerous freelance projects, including scientific papers, novels, and e-books. I have extensive experience in typography and typesetting, and a lifelong love of books.

Experience

I finshed specialised courses in InDesign and about book typography. I spend many hours becoming an expert in how to set the text so that it’s easy to read, looks beautiful and there is no funny mistakes like widows. I also worked in different languages – polish, english, german and even ukrainian (with a lot of help from a good editor). I also read a lot of books on the subject (did I mention the love of books before?). Starting from Jan Tschihold, going through Adrain Frutiger, Robert Bringhurst and others. I love typography and find the medium amazing.

What does that mean?

As I transitioned to a career in digital media, I bring my extensive experience of working with typography to the table, which is essential for good design. I am also confident in working with various print providers and can assist with self-publishing projects.
